KINDA LIKE A ROLLING STONE

Paying homage to their favorite all-time bands, DP and the VD set out to make the ultimate tribute record: a cover album in style and sound, yet with their own original music and lyrics. At the same time, Dr. Pennypacker aimed a poison dart at a past adversary by making a mockery of Bob Dylan and his music. The result was an album that Andy Williams says "made my entire career worthwhile," and one that had Mick Jagger saying "Wait, why is our picture on the bloody cover?" While not only a tribute to him, Williams recieved a nice little career boost from the record and his tribute counterpart, The Lettermen, enjoyed a bit of the same. Their classic records sold like hotcakes, and soon enough, the retro revival was in full swing, thanks entirely to the 1988 plastic.
