| What
is Class Y-9? |
- Class Y-9
is a group of individuals sent by their respective companies,
with the help of their host Japanese companies, who come to
Japan to undergo technical training.Through the efforts of the
Japanese goverment and the host companies, employees from Japanese
companies based in different countries are selected by their
employers for their distinctive performance in their respective
fields.

| Why
undergo training in Japan? |
- It is one
of Japan's effort to contribute to the technical knowledge of
developing countries around the world. They are educated in
various techniques and technologies by their host companies
so that when they return to their countries, the trainess would
then apply the knowledge they had gathered from their training
and teach their collegues as well. This in turn would create
a sharing of technology between Japan and the country of the
trainee. By letting people of different nationalities live together
in one building also encourages interaction as to build a better
understanding of other culture and create friends along the
way.

- The training
is two-fold. Before they are sent to their host companies for
technical training, they are sent here, at Yokohama Kenshu Center,
to be educated in the culture, ideals and customs of the Japanese
people so they can perform better in terms of learning, communication
and blending into Japanese society.

- This gallery is dedicated to the various activities and events
the trainees took part during their stay in Yokohama.
