2004: Forty-two years ago, the world lost the most amazing woman and entertainer of all time: Patsy Cline. No one and nothing can come close to Patsy, even though many still try.
Patsy Cline is still as popular today as she was at the height of her short-lived career. She died in 1963 at the young age of 30, when her career was really starting to take off. Of course, she is still winning awards to this day. Patsy has also been a major influence on many of today's artists, including Reba MacEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Trisha Yearwood, Michelle Branch and the up-and-coming Gretchen Wilson.
Patsy was way ahead of her time, but she never could've imagined that she'd remain timeless... and still be famous so many years after her death. Patsy, to me, is a female version of one her favorite artists- Elvis Presley.
Many people that don't like country music, will still admit that they like Patsy Cline. Patsy was a pop cross-over, but always country at heart. Her music can appeal to anyone, no matter what type of music they prefer, and that is part of the "magic" of Patsy Cline.
Patsy worked so hard her whole life to be famous in doing what she loved best-- and she was the best at what she did. She still is. There will never be another Patsy Cline, and this is my tribute to the one and only...
