My dad and i have an old jeep that we have to work on and to drive around locally. It is a 1975 Jeep CJ-5. We bought it used a couple years ago and it wasnt in very good shape. There were holes fromrust in the sides and was in need of a lot of work. Now we have done just about all that we want to do to it for now, and it is now a pretty decent looking Jeep.
The jeep has an aftermarket steel body that was put on before we bought the jeep. Since it is a '75 it has the old fasioned big steering wheel and old style steering column. It has the AMC straight 6 232 engine and 3 speed transmission. It has 4 wheel drive with locking hubs and 31 inch tires on the Renegade edition wheels.
We have done a lot of work to the Jeep. We have replaced one of the fenders, done a lot of body work with BONDO, and have gotten it painted . After it was painted we put on fender flairs and touched up a lot of the detailing. We also got a new top for the Jeep at a Jeep swap meet for 20 bucks. A complete steal. We also have the bikini top for it int he summer so that you can drive with no doors or sides but still have a top to keep you out of the rain. Its a great summer vehicle and is a blast to drive.
