A randomly encountered enemy at Shinra Tower in Final Fantasy VII. It is likely these creatures are the result of bio-engineering by Shinra geneticists, specifically Dr. Hojo. These worm-like, many-eyed-and-limbed fiends attack with sharp needle strikes. Vargid Police have also been known to willingly sacrifice themselves with a last-ditch, suicide technique. Their unnatural flesh is immune to all status effects.
