Sting Chameleon

One of Sigma's maverick servants appearing in Mega Man X. An expert hunter, Sting Chameleon is always prowling his techno-forest in search of new prey, particularly the humans he so despises. This reploid possesses a razor-lined, prehensile, "iron tongue" that functions as both a whip-like weapon and an extra appendage. Sting Chameleon enjoys swinging back and forth from the ceiling of his lair using this tongue, an action which invariably results in the sharp spikes embedded in the roof to come crashing down upon his foes. Sting Chameleon can "cloak" himself by bending light rays around his body, making him nearly invisible and impossible to target (only a faint, "wavy" outline of his body is visible while cloaked). This sneaky tactic allows him to launch surprise attacks on his confused prey when he reappears, but refracting light is a power-consuming venture, so he can only remain cloaked for short periods of time. Sting Chameleon is the master of the Chameleon Sting, a spray of three, emerald bolts from the tip of his spiny tail. Chemical reservoirs in Sting Chameleon's pincers and feet excrete a highly-adhesive, glue-like substance that allows him to climb almost any surface. Sting Chameleon's optical units can move and focus independent of one another (i.e., he can look in two different directions simultaneously); this ability gives him an impressive range of vision and makes him difficult to ambush.

Boomer Kuwanger's Boomerang Cutter rips easily through Sting Chameleon's relatively light armor.

In Mega Man X6, Metal Shark Player can summon the "ghost" of Sting Chameleon to do battle for him.
