An evil, demon-possessed sword that can be found in Olrox's Quarters (There are three different versions of the Spectral Sword in 'Castlevania - Symphony Of The Night'. Each one is found in different sections of the castle and they differ in power as well as in what additional weapons they will animate when disturbed. This is the weakest version).
This magical, glowing blade floats peacefully in the air until an intruder awakens it, at which time it summons and animates fifteen other weapons (battle axe, spear, scythe, sai, katana, whip, halberd, short sword, gladius sword, war hammer, sickle, crossbow bolt, saber, saw/cleaver, and spiked mace), via telekinesis, to join it in battle. The Spectral Sword then whirls these deadly implements through the air around it as it flies about, using them as both an offensive tool and a barrier. Occasionally, the Spectral Sword will pause in its mid-air meanderings to stab/strike at the unlucky trespasser with each weapon, one after another. While any of the implements can be destroyed, only the Spectral Sword itself is truly "alive"; if it is slain, the rest of the weapons will fall as well - a wise adventurer would mark it as his or her primary target during a battle with this demonic arsenal.
After being defeated, a Spectral Sword will sometimes leave behind a Broadsword or a Bastard Sword (the former is more likely to occur than the latter). The other fifteen weapons that the Spectral Sword animates, "poltergeists", may likewise drop a Bwaka Knife or $400 when they expire (again, the first being more likely than the last).

Cardboard, paper toweling, newsprint, white paper, wire twist ties, white glue, hot glue, beads, toothpicks, woody plant stems, and paint.
