Any resemblance my rocket has to a vibrating sex toy is entirely coincidental.

Hikaru

Insert your own dirty joke about polishing the rocket.

A rocket-riding Playboy Bunny that can be found, usually as a playable character, in several of Konami's Parodius (Parody + Gradius = Parodius) space shooter video games. Hikaru is generally accompanied by her pallette-swapped (blond hair, red outfit) look-alike Akane. While, story-wise, a unique character, Akane's practical reason for existence is to differentiate players who wish to use the same character in a simultaneous two-player game. Hikaru's (and Akane's) first appearance was in the 1994 Gokujyou Parodius: Kako no Eikou wo Motomete (Fantastic Parodius: Pursue the Glory of the Past) installment of the series. Oddly enough, Hikaru also serves as a boss character (many times her usual size and dressed in a Tokimeki Memorial Kirameki High School sailor uniform) in Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius (Chatting Parodius Live!). Like most Gradius spacecraft, Hikaru can be continuously upgraded with speed-ups, missiles (2-way hawkwind type), either double guns (tail gun type, shaped like carrots) or lasers (boomerang shot type), options (fixed formation type), and a shield, the latter two of which sport cute rabbit head designs.
