Death Balloon

Master of the Hinom Woods in Gargoyle's Quest II: The Demon Darkness. Death Balloon can rapidly inflate or deflate its many spherical body sacs by inhaling or exhaling the surrounding air. The creature uses this ability to draw enemies towards it, or to blow them away (ideally into the poisonous thorns that form the walls, and part of the floor, of the monster's forest lair). The floating fiend can also produce unlimited quantities of large acid bubbles. These burst on impact, severely burning the target.

Death Ballon has in its possession the Night Drop - a stone of unknown origins that has the unusual property of nullifying rays of light. If a warrior can obtain the Night Drop by defeating Death Balloon, Hecate will be able to synthesize the fabled Candle of Darkness, an "anti-candle" that produces darkness and cold, instead of light and heat, when lit.
