Brains

Bizarre Strogg scientists found in Quake II. Brains perform many functions including interrogation, research/experimentation, data analysis, and overseeing the best-left-undescribed process of recycling the flesh of prisoners into the organic components of new Strogg cyborg warriors. These twisted creatures have broken the minds and bodies of many a hardened marine who had the misfortune of being captured alive . . .

ABILITIES:
A Brains' chest cavity is filled with four, writhing tentacles - the Strogg monstrosities pull open their breast plates at close range to unleash these vampiric tendrils on their opponents. Both of a Brains' arms end in sharp hooks that work well for both eviscerating and drawing an individual in closer so that its tentacles can finish him or her off. An energy blast shield is built into the cyborg's armor - this transparent green force field automatically dissipates the force and intensity of incoming weapons fire and substantially decreases the amount of damage a Brains suffers from direct hits. With the exception of the Makron, their supreme leader, Brains are the most intelligent of the highly diverse Strogg.

WEAKNESSES:
For reasons only fathomable to the Strogg, a Brains' two legs are entirely different in design; these mismatched appendages are the cause of the abomination's characteristic, slow, limping gait. Brains must get close to their targets in order to inflict any damage - if not for their energy blast shields, they would almost surely never survive long enough to engage the enemy. While capable of defending themselves, Brains were designed more for academic and scientific pursuits than warfare.
