Ortho 1 Drawing

To complete the rectangle drawing do the following:

  1. Open you rectangle drawing
  2. draw a diagonal line in the projection view going from the lower left to the upper right.
  3. delete all the top, front and side labels,all dimensions.

To Put in the diagonal and right angle lines on the drawing do the following:

  1. line
  2. 4,4.5 <enter>
  3. 7,3 <enter><enter>
  4. ortho on
  5. line
  6. 8,3
  7. cursor right
  8. 1 <enter>
  9. cursor up
  10. 1.5 <enter><enter>
  11. line
  12. 7.5,6.5
  13. 9.5,6.5 <enter> 2x
  14. line
  15. 9,7
  16. 9,5<enter> 2x
  17. line
  18. 4,5.5
  19. ortho on
  20. cursor up
  21. 1 <enter>
  22. cursor right
  23. 3 <enter> 2x

 

 

 

To Put in the dimensions do the following:

  1. type in dimlinear <enter>
  2. type endpoint <enter>
  3. select lower left corner of the front view.
  4. up arrow to recall endpoint <enter>
  5. select lower right corner
  6. move dimension line to ˝” below the box and click mouse.
  7. click on dimension created
  8. right click/ select precision/ 0.00 from drop down menu.
  9. repeat steps 1 through 6 selecting the following points:
    1. lower left corner, upper left corner of front view
    2. right endpoint of sloping line, lower right corner of front view
    3. upper left and lower left corners of top view
    4. lower left of box in top view, upper left of box
    5. upper left of same box, upper right of box
  10. Choose dimension/align text/angle from menu
  11. select dimension on lower right of front view
  12. type in 90 <enter>
  13. repeat steps 10 through 12 selecting dimensions on the left:
    1. front view
    2. top view
    3. left side of box in top view
  14. Change date and title
  15. Save as ortho1.dwg
  16. plot to limits
  17. You’re done!
  18. Put it in your binder
