At Double H Longhorns, we LOVE GOD, LOVE KIDS and LOVE TEXAS LONGHORNS. After Kathryn and Matthew left home and went off to college we wanted to continue sharing our passion for God, kids and Texas Longhorns with other kids. Since then we have routinely taken as many kids and cattle to the shows as our truck and trailer will carry. Then a couple of years ago we decided we could impact even more kids by providing a showmanship clinic, and thus was born the Double H Longhorn camp. In 2016 we had 20 kids attend camp... boys & girls, from 7 to 17 years old, with 0 to 4 years of cattle showing experience.

Below are some pictures from this year's camp.

camp
Annalisa is a new exhibitor. She won this steer, Autumn Beats BCB, at the 2016 TLBGCA Spring Show in Brenham. Annalisa was probably the most improved showman from the start of camp to the end of camp, and her steer learned a lot too.
camp
We knew who Bronson was prior to the camp, but we didn't really know him. We're glad he attended - he's a lot of fun.
camp
Bryar hadn't shown longhorns prior to this camp, but he isn't new to showing livestock. He definitely has a way with animals. If he gets a longhorn calf, the other exhibitors on the show circuit better be aware of him in the showmanship classes.
camp
Christian is one of the most helpful teenagers you will ever meet. He likes showing bulls, but he can show heifers too, as evidenced here.
camp
Clarice is a veteran of our camps. We are very proud of her showmanship skills and the success she's had the past couple of years.
camp
Collette is a new exhibitor. Hopefully we gave her a good start and we look forward to seeing her at several shows this season.
camp
Eisley is another new exhibitor; she won her first steer calf, Cotton Candy RR, at the 2016 TLBGCA Spring Show. Now she will not have to sit and watch big sister Collette show ... she can show her own.
camp
Griffin came all the way from Colorado Springs, CO, to attend showmanship camp. Well, actually he came to Texas to visit his cousins Collette and Eisley, and since they were coming to camp, he did too. We enjoyed having him.
camp
Jacob is an eager showman. I expect we may see more and more of Jacob.

camp
This is Julia's favorite cow. We kept switching her to other cows so that she would get some different experience, but every time we turned around, she was showing Chili Powder again. I guess we shouldn't mess with a good thing!
camp
Kelli first met Reina at the 2015 showmanship camp. She fell in love with this heifer and was glad for the opportunity to reunite with her again this year.

camp
I think Lucas was born a cowboy. When we took breaks and the other kids were playing cards, Lucas could be found with the cows. I hope his mom & dad can supply him with enough show cattle to keep him busy!
camp
Oran is a lot of fun. I'm sure he keeps his parents and his teachers on their toes! He did great at camp and we look forward to seeing him throughout the season.
camp
Don't be fooled by the cute smile ... Peyton is one tough girl. We've seen her handle some tough animals, and
camp
Sara had the advantage of showing her own cow since it lives here at our ranch. This girls loves her cow!
camp
Savanna has quietly turned into a good exhibitor over the past year. The other exhibitors in the Teen division should take notice.
camp
Like her big brother Bryar, Sidney is new to Texas Longhorns but she's quiet comfortable showing cattle. And what a cute smile!
camp
Like Annalisa and Eisley, Zoe has started her show career by winning a steer at the 2016 TLBGCA Spring Show. According to her parents she fell in love with her steer quickly and is excited to get this next show season started.
Everyone seemed to have a good time, and we know everyone's showmanship skills improved. We look forward to watching all of these kids on the show circuit this next season. Good luck to all of y'all!
