Are you a hero
in disguise?
"Bravery is
being the only one who knows you are afraid."
-- Franklin P. Jones

Read the words
to the following songs very closely.
Do you fit in there somewhere?
Feel good
about yourself if so.

There
are heroes you look up to on the movie screen You
can find heroes wherever you choose Oh
the everyday hero is someone that you and I know Everyday
heroes are angels in disguise And
they've already learned what you know is true Every
soul has a song to sing The
everyday hero... |
|
Jeanette Arsenault wrote this song to recognize volunteers who put
the spirit in community spirit. |

Some people have eyes to see a friend in need of help. Ev'ry day heroes, live in ev'ry neighborhood. Some people have helping hands that go the second mile. Ev'ry day heroes, live in ev'ry neighborhood.
|
(1)Teach a child to read help a friend in need Plant a flow'r or two That's how it starts! |
(2)Mend a broken fence, or a broken heart. Give a part
of you That's how
it starts! |

Ev'ry day heroes, live in ev'ry neighborhood.

Heroes don't seem to feel fear, we think. That's why they can charge a machine-gun nest or rescue someone from a fire or fearlessly respond to any life-threatening emergency. But, these people may have been terribly afraid. What seems routine to others may be terribly frightening to us. To express our honest feelings may make us break out in a cold sweat. The point is not whether we are afraid, but whether we do what needs to be done. That's the hero's way. Any time you defy fear, you perform an act of heroism.
Are you a parent, a teacher, a group leader, a volunteer, etc.? Chances are, you are someone’s hero. |
