COSMIC DYNAMITE
The ancient Chinese astronomers called them "guest stars". Other cultures thought that they were omens of things to come. A bright star that would appear in the sky from nowhere, and then leave just as quickly. We now call them supernovas - a star that explodes voilently at the end of its lifetime, releasing massive quantities of energy.

This site is here to help you learn about and understand the violent bodies such as supernovae and novae that share our universe.
