The Next Meeting of the Reenactment Group

Texas Rangers Reenactment Group Overview

The Yellow Rose CWC and its friends have taken membership of Terry's Texas Rangers, the 8th Texas Calvary re-enactment group, one of the hardest fighting cavalry units during the War Between the States.

Today's Rangers have chosen to recreate the life and times of those brave men as authentically and historically correct as can be done some 135 years after the fact. Further details on Terry's Texas Rangers are available on the the link at the bottom of the page

The Duke's Meeting Report 20th January 2003

Just a short note to let you know that we held our meeting for the re-enactment on Monday the 20th of January. The good news is we actually got the chance to do a rehearsel of the script, and a good laugh was had by all. On a serious note we did rather well for a first time attempt, so a round of applause for everybody who turned up on the night.

Here is a short overview of the storyline. Here goes, the scene is set when 4 members of the 8th texas cavalry desert and join up with the 1st texas union cavalry. This then starts the story, were we spy on our old commrades for the union, so as we are gathering information the confedarate camp have a patrol out looking for us the deserters, unknown to us. So as we gather info and head back to our new camp with the 1st union cavalry, we encounter the patrol sent out by our old freinds in the confedarate camp thus starts our first skirmish. The object being the element of suprise on the union part so we force the rebs back to their camp, thus ends part one.

We regroup and rearm, letting the rebs re-enforce their group. They then up and move camp catching us out and as we try to chase them we in turn are suprised when the tables are turned on us and another skirmish breaks out and we inturn run for our lives. And there ends the story.
