Both routes started out the same. When you get to the bottom of the hill, turn right for the 11K route. This pedestrian bridge will take you over Hwy 180. |
There was a bench along the trail that Lenore took advantage of. |
There was a bridge over Rock Creek. |
Not sure what this old building was used for. |
There was a rocky hillside along one side of the trail. |
The other side of the trail was littered with red brick. |
Entering Palo Pinto County. It took us 3 hours to do this walk, and only 15 minutes was spent in Palo Pinto County. I was going to say I walked Palo Pinto County, but I think I'll hold out for an event at Possem Kingdom Lake! Picture taken by Lenore. |
We have reached the turnaround and are now headed back. This horse posed in front of this small pond with an island. |
This appears to be a cross on the hill as we are about to cross the bridge. As we got closer to it, it looked more like a totum pole. |
Going out the wind had been at our backs. Coming in we were facing into the wind. |
We are getting close to the finish. This is the bridge over Hwy 180. |
We spotted an armadillo along the trail. You mainly see these as road kill. It was neat watching this one. |
Climbing the switchbacks back to the trail head. |
