I believe that design is a vital key to any web development.  Design keeps a web page focused and appealing.  Many of the web pages I come across do not incorporate good fundamental web design.  They use colors that do not mix, they use text that doesn't flow with the page, and they just have a poor layout.  When a web page lack in any one of these areas, it doesn't do the job it was created to.  When the audience lose interest in the page, it has just failed to keep the audience.  Design is important in the fact that it puts information in a very clean and organized package so that the content can me delivered correctly.

In the future, I believe that design and all it's aspects will be even more important then now.  That isn't to say that design isn't important now in the present.  I just think that with the technology of the future, we'll be able to bring more forms of design to the developing table for the audience.  With a larger amount of people getting on the World Wide Web every day, I think that there will be competition for good designers so that they can focus and attract new audiences.
