A Little Information About The XL Sportster Evolution...

In 1986, Harley-Davidson finally updated the Sportster from the old original Ironhead configuration to the vastly improved Evolution motor. It came in either an 883cc or 1100cc version. The 1100 however, would be short-lived and soon replaced by the 1200 (74ci) motor in 1988. That same year H-D also replaced the old 35mm fork tubes with thicker 39mm ones, as well as upgrading to the larger 40mm carburator. The 1991 model would see even more changes to the frame, engine, and drive train, but since then has pretty much stayed the same bike to date...
