A Rainbow Only We Can See

by Monica Matlock - 2003

Near a sparkling pond

Special children gather

In a place where we are loved

Where disabilities don't matter

No one there makes fun of us

No one cares about our race

I wish sometimes that the world could be

Like this amazing place

Every one of us are different

Yet they're all the same as me

I'm proud to be the same as them

Under a rainbow only we can see

But sadly I come to realize

That the world can never know

About our secret paradise

Where our bonds of friendship grow

So while the rest fight and hate

And have their awful wars

I'll be waiting for the chance

To get back through those rainbows doors

Every one of us are different

Yet they're all the same as me

I'm proud to be the same as them

Under a rainbow only we can see
