I was born in Odessa, Tx. (nope, not Italy!). I lived there for 8 years, and attended Sherwood Baptist Church (hey you guys!) with my parents. I attended school there through the end of second grade (at two different schools: Sam Houston Elem. and Ross Elem.). At the end of second grade, my dad got transferred, and we packed up all of our stuff and flew to Abu Dhabi, UAE.
If you are totally at a loss for where that is, pull up a map, and look on the peninsula of Saudi Arabia. It is a very tiny little country, called the United Arab Emirates. Anywho, we lived there for 2 years. It was a great experience for me, and I made a lot of friends at the school there whom I miss! (Hello to anyone from there!) My sister, brother and I went to the private American Community School of Abu Dhabi (a.k.a. A.C.S.) I will try to put up a page of all that later...
While we lived over there, we were able to do quite a bit of traveling. We stayed one spring break over in Hua Hin, (Wha-Heen) Thailand, and that was a lot of fun. We stayed in Paris, France, for one night, and that was cool..too bad we didn't get to stay longer. We also traveled around the little bitty country of the U.A.E., and then there were all the little stops on the plane trips between the U.S. and Abu Dhabi the summer in between, and on the way back.
Anyway, after 2 years in Abu Dhabi, my dad was transferred back to the U.S., only this time to Victoria, Tx, instead of back to Odessa. At first, that was awful news, but after being here a while, I loved it! I still do! We have been here for a little over 8 years, and don't plan on leaving any time soon.
