The Mask Toy SitePROTOTYPES

Prototypes are the test models of a toy and where made to see how the finished product would look before mass production. But unfortunately, many of the concepts were abondoned. Above is an example of some prototypes, one is The Mask dressed in a pin-striped suit and hat, which never produced or made avalible to the public, only 3 are known to exist. Also there was a Plush Milo the Dog, but he never made it out to the shelves. A test of The Mask Talking doll is pictured above, which experienced a very limited release. The one pictured has a "A" written on his head, which meant Approved for Production. Several photos of a prototype Wild Wolf Mask, and the Pretorius,a Villan of the Animated series, actually Kenner was about to produce a Pretorius line as it's own series, but Toy Island obtained rights and produced the figures from the Animated Series and Pretorius was left out. Kenner was also about to produce a Cowboy Mask Figure, but due to slow sales of The Mask Series, concepts were dropped. Toy prototypes can be quite rare and some can be valuable.
