Batch Rename Menu Item:
Batch rename allows you to rename many files
quickly. If you put some thought to using the rename it can
be very useful in sorting your images.
When you create a gallery with IGC and you do not use
a thumb nails file, IGC sorts the images in the
directory by name. So with the rename function you can
sort them by date, which is what most people want
because they want the pictures in order by date, then
you can fine tune the arrangement of the images by
moving them up and down, then you rename them in a
manner that will keep them in that order by name.
An example would be to "Rename using new file
name" and use the name of "billy " and
a start number of 1. This will keep all the images in
order by name that you sorted by date, or whatever you
want.
Put some thought into your renaming before you start
and this can be very useful. |
