My Angel, Ashley
The miles separate our sunrises,
but my angel is on my mind.
You inspire me to be a better person
as the sun begins to shine.
Through the years, we have only spent
a few days together each summer.
Those are such precious minutes
that God granted me with my angel.
Wherever your wheels may spin,
my footprints have followed.
Near the lake, at the rodeo,
around the carnival, on the dance floor,
popping fireworks, and while on the cruise
we are an inseparable pair, my angel, Ashley and me!
Friends are family that we are able to choose.
I thank the Lord that He allowed me
to select such a wonderful sister.
Some of us are given precious gifts in life
my gift is a special angel, my Ashley.
Her smile is a beacon that shines from summer to summer
drawing me back to the 'week of heaven'
in a land where the joy at the end of the Rainbow
falls on our laughter and smiles.
Friends we are and friends we will be
forever in the sunset of the Rainbow.
