When she awoke on the morning of September 11, 2001, Barbara Olson had no way of knowing that she had only a few more hours to live. The pretty, conservative commentator boarded Flight 77 from D.C. to appear on the show "Politcally Incorrect" in Los Angeles. But she never made it. Not long after the plane took off, Barbara called her husband on her cell phone to tell him that her plane had been hijacked. It eventually crashed into the Pentagon, killing Barbara and hundreds of other innocent people.

With her long blond hair and beautiful smile, Barbara Olson stood out in the world of politics. Many Americans knew Barbara as a loyal member of the Republican Party who often appeared on television programs like "Larry King Live" to state her views on important issues. She wrote a best-seller about former First Lady Hillary Clinton titled "Hell To Pay." She was the wife of Solicitor General Theodore Olson and good friends with many top figures in Washington, including President Bush. Barbara was loved by hundreds of people. Even Democrates who often debated her on tv have stated that they will miss her. Those who were close to her are not surprised that her final words were "What do I tell the pilot to do?" when speaking to her husband on the phone. Barbara was not one to sit still during a problem. She always wanted to help.

The best thing we can do now for Barbara and the hundreds of other innocent people who died on that horrible day is continue to show our American pride.

I want to take a moment to thank all of the other countries who have been so supportive of America's war on terrorism, especially the United Kingdom.
