Deep Thoughts 2

OH MY GOOOOODDDDDDDNEESSSSSS!!! What the heck do we have here? Yes folks, you do believe your eyes, you are reading new words that have been placed on my page by me. I guess I have done my normal thing and have not updated in a really long time, however, there have been numerous reasons for that taking place. I have come to realize, that a few of you have been wondering what the heck has happend to me. Where did I go? Well I am still here and I am alive and kicking. Things have been really crazy on my end of the bargain this past semester. In a matter of months I have gone through 3 funerals and numerous amounts of crazy set backs. But.....that is not what yall want to hear about. You all are looking for some thoughts that I always bring about. The ones that might be crazy but at least you have to think. So what am I waiting for? Nothing.....so sit back and enjoy the updated page!!!.............................................................................................................................................................. Ok so the first item up for bid this update is something I want to harp on just for the heck of it. I know I have numerous major topics that I could tackle in that the Space Shuttle Columbia exploded and my thoughts behind us going to war.......However, I am going to hit up the sports world. I am sure you all have gotten enough information about the other topics, but I have some light to shed on us football fanatics. Recently a major story came known to us when Mike Vanderjagt, the place kicker for the Indy Colts, made some comments regarding the play of QB Payton Manning and coaching of Tony Dungy. Basically Vanderjagt bashed them both saying that he does not feel comfortable with them leading the team. He stated things about Manning not being a leader at the right times and how Dungy didnt have the right approach with his laid back attitude. Vanderjagt also mentioned how he was the only one pumped up during the first round of the playoffs against the Jets this year. Obviously, once he made these comments the sports world lit him up like the Stadium lights at Yankee Stadium during the 7th game of the world series. Everyone in sports ripped him about how he was just a Kicker and how he should be replaced. That he did not matter enough for the team to take abuse like that from him. So I am sure many people are on the side of the sports world and these two major factors in how the Colts do each year. However, I am on the exact opposite side of the court on this one. I did a little research and found out that in 5 years as a pro Vanderjagt has a FG percentage of 85.5 percent. Now that number might just be a number to most people but I then also looked up the all time FG Kicker in NFL history and checked his stats. Who would that be? Yes, the one and only Gary Anderson. Over Anderson's 21 year career he has a FG percentage of 79.9....roughly an 80 percent place Kicker. Moreover, Vanderjagt has only missed on extra point in his five seasons leading him to a 99.5 extra point percentage. Also, Vanderjagt is one of the leading FG Kickers in crunch time. In Vanderjagt's 5 year career each year he is at the top of the list in game winning field goals. One might notice Manning's statements after all of the came out......"A few years ago when he missed a game winning kick I was the first one to console him and get him going again". Yeah thats right Payton....."A FEW YEARS AGO". Thats probably the last time Vanderjagt missed a game winning Field Goal. As for Payton, what the heck has he done to bring a Championship to Indy. If I remember correctly, didnt we hear just about every year at Tennesee how he was going to win a National Championship. Did he ever do that? Heck not he didnt!!! What about in the pros? If he calls himself a great player, then why did his offense score 0 points in the first round this year? Payton always leads his team to that great offensive year during the regular season.....but what has he ever done when it counts? Nothing!!! And as for Tony Dungy.......all I have for him is "TAMPA BAY BUCS". So maybe Mike Vanderjagt should have a say in things because obvioulsy he is the one wanting to win. Why is the kicker not considered a part of the team? They sure are when they kick that game winning field goal!!! Where would the Patriots be without their place kicker? They sure would not have been world champs last year. My point is that why should be baby the guys that are supposed to be the major stars in this league. They ought to get the same type of critisism for not winning a championship just like everyone else. If I was on the colts, I would be glad that someone would step up and make that statement. Maybe it will bring Payton's high class attitude down to the real world. I just wish that more guys in sports would go out on a limb and call out their teamates that do not perform in the clutch. Well I have rambled about this one enough! Please send comments to baggs925@hotmail.com. I would like to hear what you sports fans think about the comments I have made on this one........................................................................................................... Now the next item I have for this update deal with an e-mail I just received yesterday. Now I am going to just copy the e-mail to the page and I want you all to know these are not my words. I will give a little page break before and after the e-mail. So just read it to the end and be warned.......you republicans might get a little ticked at what you read....so here it is............................................................................................................ Does Anyone remember this?? It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration. There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning! He was being drilled by a senator; "Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?" Ollie replied, "Yes, I did, Sir." The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, "Isn't that just a little excessive?" "No, sir," continued Ollie. "No? And why not?" the senator asked. "Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir." "Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned. "By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered. "Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?" "His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied. At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked. "Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of", Ollie answered. "And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator. "Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth." The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip. By the way, that senator was Al Gore. Also: Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners." However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands, The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center. This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports....................................................................................................... Well there is is folks!!! I was pretty shocked at what I read and somewhat mad at the same time. I would like to get your comments on that one also.......mainly because...well I just would!!!...................................................................................................... Ok Ok...I know this is not a normal Joey update but I am just getting back into the game a little bit at a time.......so I hope that you all liked this somewhat and I must say it feels great to be back. The movie quote for this time........"You cant lose what you dont put in the middle, but you cant win much either". Write me and let me know what yall think!!! Ok take care everyone.....peace out and have a good week!!!! OUT!!!
