UH Graphic Communications Technology Program

Most of my Graphics intense courses were lessons teaching Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Macromedia Director, and Flash. My other Information Systems graphics related courses dealt with programming for the Internet.

Information Systems Issues: Current issues and topics of significance to information system. Information Architectures for the Internet, HTML, XML, SQL, and ASP.

Students completing the course will:

1. be familiar with the fundamentals of graphic design and typography
2. be familiar with the basic concepts of photography
3. have used a digital camera to capture images
4. be familiar with processes used to digitize photographs
5. be familiar with desktop publishing software
6. be familiar with the use of photograph-editing software
7. understand the theory and use of color
8. be familiar with the processes used to reproduce graphic images using print and alternate-substrate methods
9. be familiar with some basic concepts of multi-media, including the use of interactive multimedia software
10. be familiar with processes used to prepare simple pages for the Internet
11. create a personalized browser-based electronic portfolio
12. be familiar with the Macintosh Operating System
13. consider the ethical ramifications of current communications systems
14. be familiar with digital video capturing and editing
15. be familiar with concepts related to repurposing text and images for web dissemination
