This page is dedicated in the memory and honor of Senior Corparal Israel "Izzy" Sarmiento who is pictured above. Izzy is from the town of Progresso, T.X. He has 14 brothers and sisters. He has two daughters who live in south Texas. He joined the Dallas Police Department in 1988. Izzy served on tactical for 10 years. He is in the eyes of many including me one of the best officers out there today. He is also a role model to many. Israel loved his job so much that he encouraged many family members and friends to become police officers. Izzy liked to help people as much as he could.His unexpectedly passed away on April 16,2001 at the age of 38. Izzy helped me make the right dcisions many times and I owe him alot for helping me make decisons when I needed help in deciding what to do. Izzy thanks for all you have done for me and everyone.You will always be remembered and never forgoten. R.I.P.
