WEST SABINE HONOR GRADUATES NAMED
West Sabine High School Honor Graduates for the 1978-79 school year have been named.

Kathy Sue Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Art Smith of Bronson has been named
Valedictorian. Her four-year average is 94.76. Ronda West, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. W. D. West of Pineland has been named Salutatorian. Her four-year
average is 92.21.

Both students have been active in many school activities and have received many honors.

Kathy was Class Vice-President her Freshman year; Junior Editor of Annual,
Vice-President of FHA, Vice-President of Beta Club, Vice-President of Student Council,
and was elected Most Studious and Most Talented her Junior Year;
Editor of Annual, President of Student Council, President of Beta Club, President
of Career Club, Vice-President of FHA, and was elected Most Studious,
Most Talentedand Most Likely to Succeed as a Senior.
She has been a band member for seven years and plays lead trumpet.
She plans to attend Texas A & M University.

Ronda was a member of the FHA during her Freshman year; Seargent-at-arms
of FHA, Cheerleader, and a member of the Beta Club her Sophomore year;
Corresponding Secretary of FHA, Member of the Paper Staff,
Business Manager of Annual, Cheerleader, Member of the Student Council,
Secretary of the Beta Club, member of the basketball team;
honored by who's who in her Junior year; elected Miss W.S.H.S. Most Popular Girl,
President of FHA, Editor of Paper Staff, Business Manager of Annual Staff,
Cheerleader, member of Student Counsil (class representative),
Treasurer of Beta Club, member of basketball team,
honored by Who's Who Among American High School Students,
and elected Miss School Spirit in her Senior Year.
She plans to attend Sam Houston State University this fall.

The High Ranking boy is Randy Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Smith of Bronson.
His four-year average is 91.28.
Randy was a member of the football team for four years, an FFA member for four years,
on the track team for four years, and a Beta Club member for three years.
He won the Lone Star Farmer Award in 1977-78,
was FFA Treasurer his Junior year, and was elected Most Studious
and District FFA Treasurer as a Senior.
