Earth bound was one of those special RPG's that came out that was way different from the others at the time. You controlled a boy you named yourself, called Ness by Nintendo, and got a party of 4 people you meet throughout your adventure. You travel from town to town ,each that has their own problems, and try to get information from townspeople to finish your quest.Basically you have to kill a evil being named Gigas.
The battle system is much like the Dragon Warrior ist person perspective.Even the way you talk and stuff of that nature is the same. Monsters and enemies range from bitter old man to zombies. The game is kind of qiurky as well. Humorous dialougue is found through much of the game. Make sure to call your mom or you will get homesick and won't be able to fight. Your dad deposits money from defeating monsters into your account . When you need new weapons, like a new bat or yoyo, just go to the ATM and withdraw some money.A little kid walking around with a whole lot of money is not good in real life but is okay here. If you need some energy then just eat some pizza or a burger. These items give you hit points, or whatever you named as your favorite food, and help you continue to fight.
Drawbacks is that the beginning half is the best part, in my opinion, and kind of peaks out in the story a little too early. Also since the menu commands are like Dragon Warrior, or Dragon Quest, you have to select talk in order to talk which is a very minor problem, but still I would rather walk up to a person and talk to them automatically. I also wish that there was a bigger capacity to hold items. You might run out of space kind of quick, not a problem with the FF series, and might have to throw away something you may need later on while in a cave or desert in the middle of nowhere. I like the ordering pizza thing and the photos taken in the game. Overall the game is presented very well and brought a lot of new innavation to the table. Get it on Emulator to enjoy for free or plunk down some heavy cash cause the game is groundbreaking and well worth every penny you spend. Say fuzzy pickles!
