Super Smash Bros. is one of the greatest fighters made for the n64. It is a fighting game with some action and platforming thrown in.
The gameplay is pretty weird from a SF standpoint, as the objective is to KO your opponent by knocking them into the sky or out of the ring. This is all done by hitting them until their percentage is high enough to send them away. The higher the percentage, the higher they fly.
The play is relatively simple, as each nintendo mascot has 3 special moves and a slew of regular moves that use the analog and A/B buttons. The controls are easy, and that gets points because anyone can play this from the get go. The items are pretty cool too, as they add variety to the matches. 1P mode is pretty stale, but the meat is on the multiplayer. Whether against the CPU, humans, or both it is plain out fun. Just play and you will see.
This game has TONS of replay value, especially if you have buddies to play with. No slowdown, smooth play and graphics, and a high funfactor make for a massive experience. If you don't own a 64, get one for this, PD, Zelda, and Ogre Battle. Don't miss out.-Joel-
