This is the best non sports game on the PS2 right now. At first I thought I had wasted my money, but after the boring training stage I went head on into my first mission..... and failed. You see this game is FREAKIN HARD even on easy.I died at least 20 times on the first mission. I know that I probably suck to a certain extent, but I don't suck this much. The best part is that even if you die you won't be too deterred as the game is also FREAKIN FUN. It will keep you coming back for more. Get fed up and decide to take a break? No matter cause it's still gonna be there waiting and waiting to be played.
At first the controls may be hard to grasp, switch configuration because the default buttons suck!, but after a few battles things will start to come together.There are a variety of weapons and items available at your disposal. The most useful is the hypno spray which gives you life back. There are many multiple paths in the game as well. The stage design is pretty good, although a few stages suffer from blandness and repitiveness. The gameplay is like Perfect Dark meets Syphon Filter meets streets of Rage.There are a bunch of moves to do on your opponents as well. The enemies are kind of dumb at first but get real smart toward the end. You may find yourself getting shot at by three guards all surrounding you. The story line is nothing special but delivers the goods.
There are a few gripes that I need to get off my chest. One of them is the lack of music. You don't get any until something major happens, and even then it only lasts a few seconds. I get pretty stoked and then it goes away. Second would be that you have to rotate the camera angle when you move. This cost me a couple of times in the beginning but you eventually get used to it. Third is the aiming engine used. A auto version would have been appreciated.These are minor complaints and will not interfere with the gameplay at all. The game is the best I have played in quite a while and should belongin any PS2's library. I think this shoud get a buy. The game is totally fun and challenging. Just remember if at first you don't succees try try try try try try try try try try try again. You just might have to even if you don't!
