I was really anticipating getting this game.I simply love NBA 2K3 a great deal and quite frankly was expecting the world with this title. Think about it. NBA 2k series formula+college aspects and teams and you should have the best college hoops game ever created. While it is the best college b-ball game I have played I felt a little disapointed.
First of all this game pratically recieved no hype. I never saw one review for it. The only thing I heard was that it played like it's big brother except with college teams. So I got the game after a few months of deliberation.
Good points are that it plays like the 2k series and looks real polished on the XBOX. The newer XBOX control feels real comfortable and makes playing this game a breeze. The dunks and other moves look fantastic. The sound is pretty good as well and the crowd gets pretty riled up. The game even captures the essence of small college arenas. I mean these things are tiny.
Whats not so good is the foul detection on this game. You have to pratically get your head severed off to draw a foul. Announcing sucks and the fact that some school names were changed was pretty bad. Add to the fact that shooting is impossible and the fact that there are no sliders means you will be struggling to score at least 50.
Hey am I wrong for having high hopes? I think not! I was disapointed a little, in fact since I completed a season i have yet to touch it,probably since it isn't basketball season anymore, but it still is a perfectly good game in it's own right. I think its worth a buy but i will be expecting much more next year.
