Allright, if you read my review for GG on the PS then you know I was mighty impressed with it, but due to the annoying insta kill move, very easy to pull off, it made matches too short. Well the problem has been solved in the DC version and many things have been overhauled with the system's awesome power.
First thing is that the graphics are much better. They are nice and sharp and really complement the game very nicley. You will also notice that while some of the characters are back there are many new ones that are in the game. There are I think 10 total which was 2 more than the PS version. The gameplay is very fast and intense like the original but the best part is that the insta kill is toned down. In this title the death is only for one round instead of the whole match. They are a little harder to do since they can be dodged easily. Also your life meter slowly drains if you miss, a penalty to deter amateurs from attempting the move. The match lengths are a perfect length. Not too long but long enough. This ties into the damage factor. On the PS one move could easily take off a third of your life if timed correctly. This version manages the damage better. Also the music is some of the best in the history of videogames, unless you detest hard rock, but even then it goes with the game. The DC has clearer sound and the music just sounds AWESOME. If you can find the soundtrack then buy it. Some of the old tunes are back but most of it is new stuff.
Well this an easy buy. Buy it now if you like fighting games. If you liked the first one then you will play this game even more. The versus mode provides entertainment with friends. The music and graphics are awesome and the new characters make this one of the best 2D fighters in history. The only thing that keeps this from getting a 10 is that I wish there were more modes of play. While arcade and versus are great, this would have been an easy 10 with other modes of play included. Still buy the game, import it, whatever you have to do to get your hands on it.
