Artemis
Function: Scientist
"Knowledge is power."
Profile: The most important thing in Artemis's life is his family. And after his family, his work. As one of the Autobots who worked on designing and building the Ark to take Optimus Prime and his forces on their quest for new sources of energy, Artemis shared many exchanges with the great Autobot leader, although he never really thought of him as a friend - more of an accquaintance. However, on the day of the Ark's launch, Artemis discovered that Optimus felt very differently indeed, considering Artemis one of his greatest friends. Years later, when Optimus and his crew failed to return from their mission, Artemis designed and had built a spaceship he called the Indomitable, so that he, his mate, Silica, and his son, Wheelie, could voyage into space in an attempt to find the Ark. Artemis is a very friendly character, with strong morals and unswerving dedication to whatever he sets his mind to. He is always interested in learning new things, and employing whatever skills he can to overcoming a problem.
Abilities: In robot mode, Artemis has two booster jets mounted on his shoulder blades, which allow for brief, controlled flight. Using them, he can remain in the air for five minutes. He can convert his right hand into a circuit welder, capable of precision to 0.5 of a Cybertronic mini-inch. He has a high-power searchlight mounted above his forehead, which he prefers to use to help him with his work, rather than to go out hunting for Decepticons. Artemis transforms into a Cybertronian vehicle, built for speed, rather than combat, due to his pacifistic career choice. He can achieve speeds of 100 mph on his own, but when he activates the booster jets which endow him with flight in robot mode, he can reach 150 mph. His range is 2,100 miles. He has no weapons to speak of, but is a reasonable marksman, and can operate a standard blaster with competence, should the need arise.
Weaknesses: Artemis's constant concern for his family often distracts him from whatever he may be doing. Furthermore, as he was no weapons of his own, if there are none readily available to him at the beginning of a combat situation, he will be a sitting cyber-duck. Furthermore, his hand-to-hand combat skills are comparatively poor.
