CZW War at Station 44
3.10.01 Smyrna, Delaware

-I guess I should tell you what has happened in CZW since the 2.17.01 show that I last reviewed. At the last show, 2.28.01, Justice Pain dropped the CZW title to Nick Berk, who dropped it to Yoshihiro Tajiri, who dropped it to the owner of CZW and a regular in Big Japan Zandig. Considering there was only three other matches excluding the Wrestlemania IX finish, I decided against purchasing the show. Hopefully that'll help you understand the storylines leading to this show, which was also probably not worth me purchasing, but we'll get to that. Onto the show.

-Former CZW Champion Justice Pain comes out to Mad Season's "I Don't Know Anything" to a pretty good pop. Pain runs down Zandig and challenges him for the title tonight. Nick Berk comes down and says Pain deserves the title. CZW Champion Zandig comes down with Z-Barr and says Berk & Pain will team tonite against another tag team. Dewey Donovan comes down and says his tag team will face them. So its now Briscoe Brothers vs. Nick Berk & Justice Pain later tonite. Sounds good.

-Strap on a Pole: Rockin' Rebel vs. Ruckus-
This is a rematch from their 2.17 match, after Rebel whipped Ruckus with a strap. Rebel comes out and does some nasty jokes and says he deserves the CZW title, since he beat Pondo & Zandig in a 3 way dance on 2.28. Rebel starts the match out with a neckbreaker and goes for the strap, but Ruckus catches him and hits a handspring elbow in the corner. Hangmen's neckbreaker by Ruckus, who then goes for the strap, but it caught in a belly-baxk suplex by the Rebel. Rockin' Rebel goes for the strap, but both men fall off the top rope without the strap. Ruckus gets the strap and whips Rebel. Rebel comes back with a nice clothesline and they go outside. A slam and a hanspring moonsault on the floor by Ruckus. Ruckus goes for an ax handle smash on the outside, but it is countered by a chairshot by Rockin Rebel. Rebel hits a 2nd rope clothesline back in the ring for a near fall. Ruckus come back with a clothesline and a moonsault press for a near fall. Rebel then proceeds to push down the ref, so the ref whips Rebel with the strap. This allows Ruckus to hit the Sky Hi for the 3ct. Does he think he's D-Lo Brown? 5:03 * Decent enough match, but hopefully this feud is done.

-Jon Dahmer, Eddie Valentine, & Jeff Rocker vs. Johnny Kashmere, El Sexisto, & Lord Everett Devore-
Kashmere is just back from his tour of Big Japan and is being punished by Zandig for not doing well, so he has to team with two drag queen fags. Kashmere is a former member of the Backseat Boyz w/ Trent acid and he was one of the Backseat Dudleys that was powerbombed by Albert on Heat. He still teams with Acid on some indy cards. He's supposively pretty good, but we'll see. Sexisto starts with Dahmer. Lowblow by Sexisto, but Dahmer returns the favor with one of his own. Snap suplex by Dahmer and a gord buster gets a near fall. Devore comes in and nails Dahmer with a suplex for a two count. A tag to Sexisto, who executes a Russian leg sweep. Sexisto gets a near fall with a sidewalk slam. A tag to Devore, who hits a clothesline on Dahmer for a near fall. Jon Dahmer comes back with a spinebsuter, which allows Valentine to come in and hit a lowblow leg drop. Valentine gets a two count on Devore after a clothesline. A tag to Sexisto who lowblows Valentine. A tag to Jeff Rocker and Johhny Kashmere for the first time in the match. Pumphandle slam attempt is reversed by Kashmere into a swinging neckbreaker. Kashmere goes to the top rope to cheer, but Sexisto throws him off. This allows Rocker to hit a pumphandle suplex, which appears to have hurt Kashmere's neck. Jeff Rocker's fisherman's suplex gets a two count. A reverse atomic drop attempt by Valentine is totally screwed up when Kashmere just falls off Valentine's shoulders. Kashmere isn't looking too good. A tag to Dahmer, who hits a powerslam for a near fall. Jeff Rocker hits kryptonite krunch after a tag. Kashmere regains himself and attacks Sexisto & Devore. Valentine misses a spear in the corner and Kashmere hits a springboard dropkick on Dahmer. Kashmere hits a bulldog on Valentine. Kashmere hits a nice soumersault plancha on his partners on the outside. All 5 men ambush Kashmere. On the outside 4 men hold Kashmere above a table and Valentine hits a plancha onto him through the table. Jeff Rocker gets the pin @11:40 3/4* Way too long and Kashmere sucked half of the time.

-Ladder Match: Trent Acid (w/ Z-Barr) vs. Ric Blade-
Before the match gets underway, former ECW referee H.C. Loc comes down. He's the referee for Trent Acid according to Z-Barr and he'll ref the match. Well that guarantees a screw job finish and adding Acid's annoying stalling tendecies, will result in a dissapointing match. Two minutes in they finally tie up, as Acid is just like RVD in his stalling methods. Abdominal stretch reversed by Blade into a hiptoss. A rokcer dropper attempt reversed into a rollup by Ric Blade, but Acid comes back with an Oklahoma roll for a near fall. Doubleclothesline spot takes out both men. Acid goes outside and Z-Barr gets on the mic and says they're leaving. Blade calls them back out. Action resumes at 6:00, as they reverse kicks and martial arts moves. Roundhouse by Ric Blade takes down Trent Acid. Acid looks like he's hurt, but he plays possum and nails Blade from behind with a superkick. Flying headscissors in the corner by Blade and a nice reverse powerbomb. Ric Blade brings the ladder into play, but gets back body dropped on it. They battle on the ring apron and Acid hits an implant ddt on the apron. Acid hits a gord buster on the chairs in the crowd. Back in the ring, Blade hits a backflip in the corner and nails Acid with a superkick. Blade puts on a kryptonite krunch submission which looks pretty cool. Blade misses a springboard 450 splash and Acid hits a tumbleweed leg drop on a chair. Acid hits a spining powerbomb on the ladder. Acid tries to end it with an Acid bomb through the table on the outside, but Blade reverses it into a reverse suplex on the ladder for a near fall. Acid misses a chairshot and Blade hits a ddt on the chair. Tajiri like kicks to the face of Trent Acid and a springboard heel kick with a chair to the face knocksout Acid. Blade only gets a very slow two count though. Three moonsaults by Blade and a corkscrew moonsault allows Ric Blade to set Acid on a table with two chairs. H.C. Loc accidently? crotches Blade, allowing Acid to Acid bomb him through the table, but it doesn't break. So Acid hits a 180 splash through the table for the fast three count. 24:48 *3/4 Really long match that was good in the middle, but the stalling and terrible finish took the rating down.

-Jimmy Washington comes down with Natasha for his interview segment. Washington says Pastor Jim is dead and hes now a cowboy. Nick Gage comes out with Dewey Donovan & the Briscoe Brothers. Washington mentions how Gage hasn't beaten Lobo the last two times, which pisses Gage off. Nick Gage gives Washington a brainbuster and gives a frog splash to Natasha. Maybe we wont have to see Washington's segment anymore. CZW Ironman Champion Lobo comes running out to start his amtch with Nick Gage.

-CZW Ironman Championship: Lobo vs. Nick Gage (w/ Dewey Donovan)-
Lobo starts fast with some clotheslines and Nick Gage regroups outside. Shoulder takedown by Nick Gage & he misses a clothesline, allowing a high t-bone suplex by Lobo for a near fall. Drop toe hold and an elbow drop by Lobo gets him another near fall. Lobo hits a Northen Lights suplex for a near fall again. Lobo gets caught and is sent down with a T-bone suplex by Gage. Gage gives Lobo a nice kick to the head and they brawl outside. Lobo is irish whipped into the production truck and Gage is whipped into a locker. Back in the ring, Nick Gage's sunset flip gets a near fall. Lobo executes a clothesline, but his 2nd attempy is reversed into a schoolboy for a near fall. Nick Gage hits a nice roaring elbow, but Dewey Donovan accidently hits Gage with powder, which was way too obvious that it was going to happen, and rolls up Gage for the 3 count. 7:38 *1/4 Some nice wrestling spots here, but the finsih wasn't very good. The Ironman championship is supposed to be hardcore, but both men didn't really do much hardcore in this match. Not that I have a problem with that.

-Briscoe Brothers (w/ Dewey Donovan) vs. Nick Berk & Justice Pain-
This should be pretty good, as the Briscoes actually get to wrestle some guys with experience. Nick Berk starts with Jay Brisco, as they reverse arm wrenches. A drop toe hold and headlock by Berk and a tag to Justice Pain. A Jappanese armdrag by Pain, who works on Jay's arm. A superkick by Jay, after Marc Briscoe interfers, and a release fisherman's suplex gets Jay Briscoe a near fall. A tag to Marc Briscoe and a dropkick nails Pain for a near fall. Back body drop by Justice Pain gets him a near fall too. Both Pain & Marc miss springboard moonsaults. Pain attempts a piledriver, but it is reversed with a lowblow. Marc gets a two count after a big lariat, but misses two enziguri attempts and Pain puts on the STF. Marc Briscoe & Justice Pain reverse hiptosses and Pain hits an overhead belly-belly suplex. All four men come in the ring and Marc Briscoe is sent face first in the air by Nick Berk. Both Briscoes are sent outside. Nick Berk hits a baseball slide to the outside. Wifebeater attempts to jump from on rope to another, falls once, and then slips the second time and falls badly on the floor. A really sick bump, but he seems to be fine. They brawl outside for a while, as Pain hits Jay Briscoe with a chair. Donovan trips Berk in the ring, allowing the Briscoes to hit double team Jappanese armdrags and Rockbottom. Marc Briscoe gets a near fall and hits Northern Lights suplex 2x for a near fall. A nice snap suplex by Marc and a knee drop for a two count. The Briscoes double team Berk with a DVD into a reverse ddt, beautiful. Jay Briscoe gets a near fall and then locks on a sleeper, as Nick Berk needs a tag. Nick Berk hits the Berk Driver, as both men are out. Marc Briscoe does the Bruise Brothers, DOA, Harris Brothers switcharoo and hits a German suplex on Nick Berk. Justice Pain takes out Dewey Donovan on the outside and a hurricaranna attempt is reversed into a powerbomb by Berk. A hot tag to Justice Pain, who hits a blockbuster on Marc Briscoe. A double pin on both Briscoes gets 2 3/4. Justice Pain & Jay Briscoe go outside, as Marc Briscoe hits an atomic drop. An attempted toprope hurricaranna is reversed into a powerbomb by Pain after he screwes it up the 1st time, and Berk hits a frog splash on Jay Briscoe for the 3count. 14:44 **1/4 Solid match. Nick Berk runs the Briscoes to the back.

-Justice Pain calls out the CZW Champion Zandig. Both men brawl, as Pain hits a heel kick. Zandig attempts a Gorilla Press Slam, but it is reversed when Tommy Dreamer steps foot in the ring! Dreamer brawls with Zandig all over the ring. Dreamer is whipped into the production truck on the outside. Z-Barr & Justice Pain brawl in the ring. A hanging vertical suplex into a powerbomb by Zandig on Dreamer back in the ring, but Zandig gets caught up top and hit with a chair drop kick in the tree of woe. A Tommy Dreamer DVD attempt is reversed by Zandig, but Pain hits the Painthriller (pumphandle powerbomb) trough the table on Zandig. Zandig is left bleeding big time in the ring. Zandig then gives a god awwful promo in the ring. You usually can't compose yourself to give a good promo when blood is dripping allover the microphone.

-Mad Man Pondo vs. Wifebeater (w/ Mac Smack) vs. Nate Hatred-
This was supposed to be Balls Mahoney, but Hatred is replacing him. Smack runs down Balls Mahoney before the match, who now has been banned from wrestling in Maryland so I hear. Both men attack Wifebeater and Wifebeater comes back with a shoulder tackle on Pondo. A hiptoss by Wifebeater on Hatred. A back body drop by Wifebeater on Hated, as Wifebeater is dominating. Nate Hatred hits a Northern Lights suplex on Wifebeater for a near fall. Bulldog by Hatred on Pondo, but Hatred misses an elbow drop. Mad Man Pondo hits a bad looking Rocker dropper on Hatred. Wifebeater then powerbombs Hatred from the apron through 10 chairs to the floor. Nasty spot! Pondo staples Wifebeaters head, because he's the white New Jack. Pondo suplexes Wifebeater from the apron to a table full of light tubes. Pondo sets up chairs in the ring. Nate Hatred tombstones Pondo on the chairs, but Wifebeater comes in and hits light tubes to the head of his opponents. Wifebeater rakes the face of Ponod, very sick. Pondo ddts Hatred through a table on the outside and Wifebeater suplexes Pondo through the same table. Hatred powerslams Wifebeater on some chairs and then staples a shirt to the heads of both opponents in a neat spot. A barbed wire table is brought in the ring an Wifebeater sets it on fire. Wifebeater powerbombs Pondo through it for the 3 count. 11:02 1/2* A few good spots save this from really sucking. This was really sick and crappy.

-FINAL THOUGHTS: Dissapointing show. The two good matches weren't as good as usual and there was more crap then usual on this tape. Only six matches here, but Tommy Dreamer did debut. He would go on to be at one more show, so I can't really recommend this show. Look for the following reviews in weeks to come.
