A NATION'S DISASTER

A NATION'S DISASTER
By:Christa Gartner

The skies are still... silent
No movement in the vastness of blue and cloud
The nation is silent as it mourns
the loss of thousands of innocent lives

On the Island the fire roars
people cling to life as those close to them
are powerless to act

Life stopped at the second the steel bird
slammed into the first Twin
The nation watched in horror and yet another
steel bird attacked the second Twin

People run in fear, as one by one,
the Twins collapse on the street below
Some survive... some do not

Prayers are said, candles are lit
Flags are waived
Flags...
Our Nation
Our America
Our Home

Justice will prevail

We are a family pulling together
We are one Nation under God
Indivisible...

Some are dead
All are afraid
Chaos has struck
But the sun rises every morning

In the eve of this disaster
There will be Liberty
and Justice for all

May God Bless Us All
