Little Feather A feather whisking in the Texas wind Not knowing what is in store for it Or where the long journey will end. I am a little feather it says Do with me what you will Just loft me to a glorious place One where fresh breezes are still. I am just a little feather I say Why do you cast me in such a way All the ups, downs, and strange new sounds Just trying to make it another day. These winds are too cold for me Making me fall through strange new lands Lands I do not wish to see But I am just a little feather Needing warm smooth air to get around Lifting me high, taking me far To a place of serenity where I am not bound I am just a little feather Some day my beauty will be found.
