Santos as a Model

Last night, I lost my best friend
He died while in my heart,
Leaving it empty and lost again,
for he made up every part.

I never had the chance to say,
"Good-bye, I'll see you soon,"
And now you've gone and left me here
As you steal past silvery moon.

Your smile was one that gave me strength.
your heart, the purest gold.
I'll never see the light again;
my heart and body cold.

I cannot understand the times,
Nor fathom God's great plan.
I know you're in a better place,
But I need to hold your hand.

If, perchance, you hear me now,
I would whisper in your ear,
"I've loved you like a brother, friend,
Just like our crew that's here."

No one will ever take your place,
For boys we'll always be.
A piece of us is stolen now.
Your life was dear to me.

I hope tomorrow I'll make my life
One in which you're proud.
Thank you for your laughter, friend.
My heart can hear it loud.

In life and death you'll always be
a member of the crew.
You gave us everything we need
for life to make it through.

I cannot believe that you are gone,
your passion for life, a memory.
If only I could've taken your place
And shots were aimed at me.

But now, the distance thunder calls
For us to carry on,
To live the life you'd have me live
And reach the farthest star.

Last night, I lost the friend of mine,
The one I considered best.
So now I say, "Good night sweet prince:
And flights of angel sing thee to thy rest."
