June 8, 2001 started out really good surprisingly. Vic and I both got called back for job interviews, which was cool b/c we had been looking for a job for since like April. Vic came to my house and picked me up. We went to Buffalo exchange and the stupid bitch there like didn't take any of my clotes. Vic and I got in a fight and then made up. I got hungry so I told vic to go to Kroger's so that he could buy me some sherbert. Not a good decision. Vic ended up running into this guy's car.=( After finding out that this place where vic and i used to go to be alone burned down, we went to fitz to go see Vice Squad.

We've been to fitz billions of times and can you believe we get lost going there? It took an hr. to get there just to find out that, oh, we can't see our band until midnight b/c they couldn't play downstairs in fitz b/c there was a water leak. I had to leave at 12 so we just watched some crappy bands. Well wouldn't you know that the minute we had to leave after watching 1/2 a vice squad song, it starts pouring like there's no tomorrow. Vic and I get soaked running to his truck. We leave only to almost die b/c a bit down the road it was flooded about 5ft. or more. All u could see was the top of these 2 cars. Mega scary. All the other roads were flooded too.

So there we were, stuck at fitz. Oh and the rain didn't stop, so we were stuck there all night. Well, until 4am b/c that's when they kicked all of us out. Vic has like no gas so even at 5 in the morning when the water did recede some, we couldn't leave until a gas station opened up. But flooding means no gas stations are open. Finally at around 6 vic was like f*ck this we need to go, and then guess what not a mile down the road we get a flat. By the time the flat go changed, we found an open gas station and started our way home.
Like every feeder road was flooded. We were lucky that we got to vic's house. That was the first luck we had all day/night long. Spending the night w/vice squad and a bunch of drunk punks was in a way worth it. The skins kept wanting to fight and yeah. Vic and I were shivering and freezing and looking pretty pathetic i must say. I was happy to get to vic's house and to dry off finally. I'm glad that we got to experience it. We learned our lesson and had a bit of fun at the same time; I just didn't realize it at the time.
Tens of thousand of people loss their homes in the flood from allison in both Louisiana and Texas. I'm not happy that the flood happened, but i am happy that i was out there to experience it. To just watch it on TV would not be the same as being out there, hoping that the water wouldn't reach where you were and hoping that you wouldn't drive into this huge bayou of water just to drown. It brought Vic and I closer and made us realize you we better enjoy each other b/c you don't know when you're going to die.
