Olivia Grayne
Olivia is the prim and proper niece of Mrs. Bramson. She is only there, because she can't afford to live anywhere else. She is paid and a paid companion to the old woman. She is acutally a very beautiful young woman, but she hides it behind her matron-like clothes, hair bun, and glasses. She does have one admirer, though, Hubert Laurie, Mrs. Bramson's lawyer. She has been asked to be married many times by him, but she has turned him down time and time again becuase he has one defect. Hubert is a bore. Olivia is looking for a man that will bring adventure to her life. Suddenly this man does come. It is Dan. She is fascinated by him. She can see through his act of deception to Mrs. Bramson and Dora, who by the way is pregnant with his child. As time passes, she begins to fall for this charleton. She lets down her hair and takes off her glasses, but will she choose to run off with him and his dark and devious lifstyle, like the many women before her. And of those women, some ended up dead.
