Here are my master's collection of his favorite poems.
You may leaf through them at you heart's content
The Enchanter
In days long gone- out of memory's reach
The Enchanter his alocytes did teach
He taught of powers and of fire
He taught of love and man's desire
He taught of pain and taught of greed
He taught of fear and taught of need
And when he's done with sharing all
A student asked about the fall
Five thousand years and some ago
The dragons lived for it is so
Written in the books of lore
In a time long gone before
And man was growing in the land
Becoming like the desert sand
Wherever dragons had there home
Man was fearful their to roam
But as their numbers grew in count
Man's strengrh and fearlessness did mount
Often men did venture far
To kill a dragon - called it war
Until the dragons knew the day
had come, no other way
but to put a fearful end
to the slaughtering bands of men
Then followed war which scorched the lands
And put a stop to slaughtering bands
And after all was said and done
Man retreated- no battle won
Few dragons in the world remained
With death and turmoil what was gained?
Leaving with remaining kin
The dragons were not seen again
For deep within the mountain caves
The dragons chanted over graves
and took on them the forms of men
that slaughter would not rise again
Enchanters know that from that day
the fires within the enchanter's say
For if you have the power within
Then you are born from dragon kin
Avalon
Beautiful maidens
Firebreathing dragons
softly flying harpies
horse-driven wagons
Unicorns flying
in a graceful manner
streets echo
with children's laughter
Exquisite castle grounds
under the rising sun
All these things
are found in Avalon
Distant Dreams
Can you answer my call
will you listen to my cry
where have all the unicorns gone
with distant dreams do they lie.
Within the world of fantasy
do their glistening coats create
a light like the silver moon
Or is it because of human hatred
that they are destined to the gloom
Is their world a dark cold land
where light is no more and the darkness consumes
Do they walk with their heads held high
as they used to
or do they hang low afraid
of the wickedness that looms
Are they sad no one believes
their existance is even true
Do they know that they are dying
because of unbelievers like you
Are their horns still glowing
with a magical light
Or are they dull and lifeless
tired of the fight
Do they walk with dying dreams
toward the last believing land
Does that exist anymore, or is it as terrifying
as the vast desert sand
Do people know each time
they let a dream slip away and die
That in the darkness of a world where death is so often
for them a unicorn cries
So can you tell me where they've gone
can you show me where they are
Will you piont me towards their distant world
no matter how long the journey, or how far
I must show them someone believes
that someone really cares
I must take away the sadness
that each one sadly bears
Can you answer my call
Will you listen to my cry
Where have all the unicorns gone?
I must find them before no one believes anymore
and with distant dreams they die.
Magical Creature
Little sprites weaving
flowers in your mane
What is it you are
do you even have a name
Liquid brown eyes
gaze softly in the light
Could I touch you, ride you
mount you if I might
Garlands of daisies
hang sweetly from your coat
hair as smooth as satin
touch fingers as I stroke
Fields of buds and clover
are the mattress for your bed
Is that horn you carry
so heavy for your head
Nostrils quiver slightly
As the breezes softly sigh
A world of other creatures
iS reflected in your eyes
Little butterflies with elfin hands
fly briskly to and fro
living in a world with you
that I will never know
Your step is silent as
you step across the stream
Only to become luminescent
In the moons reflecting beam
Only good and happy things
will happen to you here
living in another space
where man cannot come near.
