I believe all myth is based in fact. Perhaps the facts have been distorted some, but there is usually a reason a myth has come into being. Joseph Campbell has a good book on myths. I have a copy of it here somewhere.
The lesson also recommends keeping a dream journal, and that's something I've thought about doing before. Some of my dreams come true, and I'm able to tell which ones those are by the quality of the reality of the dream itself. I can change what happens in a dream if I want to as well. Everyone can do that but some people don't try. It's a way to teach children to control the nightmares that plague them. I haven't done that yet, the dream journal. I've started one that chronicles the things that the children in my life do, and that one I need to update some.
My week has been a full one. Elizabeth went to California with Connie's parents and will get to "meet the mouse" at Disneyland. I know she's excited. I have a Dragontales book waiting for her when she gets home. Neener (Jennine) has a crush on Batman and is driving Connie crazy watching the movies over and over and over. But at least she will eat her dinner....after all "Batman does".
I've got Candy's birthday present ready to mail, and Nonabelle's Mother's Day present ready late. I did get a good letter included with it, though, even though there is lots more news I could have added to the four pages I wrote. I don't write near as often as I should. I still owe great long letters to Eli and Jake.
I'm currently reading an advance reader's edition of Coldheart Canyon (Clive Barker) and it's a better book than his Galilee was. Just my opinion. Where to leave this? I'm not sure.....
Hello one and all! The date is Monday, May 14th, and it was 2001 the last time I woke up. I had thought about starting one of those blogger things, and then realized I had space here that I could use just as easily, if not more so. I don't mind sharing ideas with you or with myself, so I'll see if I can't learn some discipline and keep this thing going.
I'm currently enrolled in three classes at VU : Memoir Writing, the Journey to Me....Marking Time: Ritual for Everyday Life....and The ABC's of Grammar and Style. I think they'll be fun. The classes began today, which is what got me started on this journal in the fist place.
There's so much I want to tell you about! I got to meet one of my online friends this weekend, which was way cool....Josh (real name)/Gill (online name) was about how I figured he would be. I've been talking to him on icq now for around two years I think. We play together in an online rpg/writing forum called Clan of the Lost Dragon . It was really easy to talk with him....I didn't feel nervous or anything. If you ever get to meet one of your online friends, just remember to be yourself. Gill wanted to meet one of our friends in the same game, Jennifer/Talathea, so that's what prompted his trip. Gill is cute, btw girls. Just thought you might want to know that.
Eeek! I have a few things to get busy on....I shall continue later...*hugs*
