"Funeral services for Mrs. Chotcie Sheppard will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 3:00p.m. at First Methodist Church in Teague. Rev. Alan Van Hooser will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday with the family present from 6:00p.m. unitl 8:00p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Sheppard passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at her residence in Teague. She is survived by two daughters, Susan Beaver & husband Paul and Shari Dickens, all of Teague; five grandchildren, Leslie Sims & husband Shannon, Kayla Craig & husband Todd, David Beaver & wife Emily, Jana Paul & husband Taylor, and Leah Akeman & husband Aaron; eleven great-grandchildren, Morgan Sims, Mallorie Sims, Lilah Craig, Caroline Craig, Mollie Sims, Lily Beaver, Reese Beaver, Kane Akeman, Kinley Akeman, Sophie Craig, and Baby Girl Paul; one brother, Jim Lambert & wife Sandy of Carbondale, Illinois; two nephews; four nieces; special friend & caregiver, Carolyn Mims; other relatives and friends. Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Sheppard; parents, J. The newspaper has its roots in five predecessors, beginning with the Waco Evening Telephone in 1892. The Tribune-Herald took its current identity when E.S. Fentress and Charles Marsh, who owned the Waco News-Tribune, bought the Waco Times-Herald. That purchase was the beginning of Newspapers, Inc., a chain which eventually owned 13 newspapers. Founded 1892 (as the Waco Evening Telephone).

"David L. "Sonny" Sheppard, 77, passed away Friday, May 12, 2006, at his residence in Teague. Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, May 14, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Powers officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, at Bowers Funeral Home. Sonny was born in Teague, Texas, to the late Leslie Vance and Lillian Withrow Sheppard. Sonny graduated from Teague High School in 1946. On Feb. 20, 1948, he married Chotcie Lambert. Sonny was a lifelong resident of Teague. He retired from the BN Railroad in 1990 where he worked as a conductor for 43 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Sonny enjoyed raising cattle for many years. He passed away in the same house that he was born in on 4th Ave. in Teague. Sonny was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Brittnee Sims. He is survived by his wife, Chotice Sheppard, of Teague; daughters, Susan Beaver and husband, Paul, of Teague, and Shari Dickens, of Bryan; grandchildren, Leslie Sims, of Teague, Kayla Craig, of Tehuacana, David Beaver, of Fairfield, Jana Grady, of Combine, and Leah Beaver, of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Mallorie, and Mollie Sims, Lilah and Caroline Craig and Lily Beaver; and special friend, L.C.
