Interment will follow the services at Dew Cemetery. Ms. Downey passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at her residence near Dew. She was born in Dew on October 23, 1928 to Jasper & Mildred Lane McAdams. Over the years, Jo worked in various jobs as a secretary, waitress, and factory worker. Ms. Downey retired from TXU in Fairfield in 1992. She led an interesting and varied life and had a lot of stories that she could tell really well. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dew. She is survived by one grandson, Jonathan Downey of Bradley, Oklahoma; one brother, E.J. McAdams & wife Ruth of Teague; two sisters, Beth Norton of Mexia and Carol Christall & husband Bobby of Dew; sister-in-law, Joy McAdams of Teague; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Cindy Willis of Dew; other relatives and friends. Ms. Downey was preceded in death by two sons, Alfred Lloyd Downey Jr. and Jackie Randall McKinght Jr.; one brother, Ronnie McAdams; her parents, Jasper & Mildred McAdams; one niece, Cathy Hartless; and one brother-in-law, William (Jr) Norton. The family requests memorials be made to the Dew Cemetery Association, 139 CR 683, Teague, Texas 75860."

The Waco Tribune-Herald is an American daily newspaper serving Waco, Texas and vicinity.

The newspaper has its roots in five predecessors, beginning with the Waco Evening Telephone in 1892. The Tribune-Herald took its current identity when E.S. Fentress and Charles Marsh, who owned the Waco News-Tribune, bought the Waco Times-Herald. That purchase was the beginning of Newspapers, Inc., a chain which eventually owned 13 newspapers. Founded 1892 (as the Waco Evening Telephone).
"Mrs. Ruth Ann McAdams, 75, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. prior to the funeral services at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Steve Cowart will officiate. Interment will follow the services in Dew Cemetery.

Ruth Ann was born in Dallas, Texas, to the late George and Bobbie Downey, and was raised in Dallas. Ruth married Emory Jasper McAdams on April 15, 1956. She lived in 17 different states and moved around for many years with her husband’s pipeline work. Included in her many residencies was eight years in Alaska where she worked for a bakery, before returning to Texas. Ruth owned and operated Kiddie Patch Daycare in Teague for 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling, camping, and always being on the "go". Ruth was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy McAdams Hartless; and a brother, Ray Glenn Downey.

Survivors include her husband, Emory Jasper McAdams, of Teague; son, Johnny McAdams and wife, Lisa, of Teague; son-in-law, Marvin Hartless, of Teague; granddaughters: Colinda Greer and husband, Robert, of Teague, Crystal Fuller and husband, Joe, of Boise, Idaho, and Amanda Hurst, of Groesbeck; great-grandchildren: Coltin Peters, Cache Peters, Wyatt Fuller, Zachery Fuller, Dillon McAdams, Hunter Hurst, Brindon Hurst, Nate Hurst, Emily Hurst, and Madelyn Hurst; brothers: Lawrence Downey and wife, Irletta, of Canton, Mike Downey and wife, Carolyn, of Arlington, Pat Downey and wife, Arlene, of Oscoda, Michigan, and Fred Downey and wife, Sandra, of Midlothian; other relatives and friends, and her staff at Kiddie Patch Daycare, Crystal Lynch, Dottie Brown, Billie Smith, and Hedi Pope."

"The Fairfield Recorder September 28, 2007 also September 27, 2007 - Page 6B Ronnie McAdams Funeral services were held at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church for Ronnie McAdams, 67, of Teague who died Sunday in his home. Mr. McAdams was born on March 7, 1940 in Dew and married Joy Montgomery on Sept. 14, 1963. Working as a pipeliner he traveled across the US and to several foreign countries. Mr. McAdams was a member of Boggy Maonsic Lodge No.739 and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his two red heelers. Services were at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25 with Steve Cowart officiating. Burial was at Dew Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. He is survived by his wife, Joy McAdams; son, Tony McAdams and wife Angie of Teague; two grandchildren, Ty and Laney McAdams of Teague; three sisters, Esther Jo Downey of Dew, Clara Beth Norton of Mexia and Mary Carol Christall and husband Bobby of Dew; and brother, Emory (Bub) McAdams and wife Ruth of Teague. Mr. McAdams was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Jasper and Lanie Mildred McAdams; brother-in-law, Junior (Bugs) Norton; nephew, Loyd Downey; mother-in-law, Mary Price; and aunt, Sue Campbell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston for cancer research. Arrangements were made by Bowers Funeral Home of Teague."

He worked for several different companies during his career. He married Joy Montgomery on September 14, 1963, and shared forty-four years together. Mr. McAdams enjoyed farming and ranching, watching NASSCAR, and spending time with his grandkids. He especially enjoyed watching Laney dance and play basketball and to watch Ty with his shooting sports. He was very fond of his two red heeler dogs, Laney and Gracie. Mr. McAdams was a member of Boggy Masonic Lodge #739 in Teague. He is survived by his wife Joy McAdams, his son Tony McAdams and wife Angie, his grandchildren Ty and Laney McAdams all of Teague; his sisters Esther Jo Downey of Dew, Clara Beth Norton of Mexia and Mary Carol Christall and husband Bobby of Dew; his brother Emory (Bub) McAdams and wife Ruth of Teague, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Johnnie Jasper and Lanie Mildred McAdams; his brother-in-law, Junior (Bugs) Norton, his nephew Lloyd Downey, his mother- in-law Mary Price and his aunt Sue Campbell. "Services for Paul James Allen, 74, Roff, are 2 p.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Steve Wilburn officiating, assisted by the Rev. Cody Allen. Burial follows at Lightning Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Allen died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at an Ada hospital. He was born Dec. 5, 1937, in Crosbyton, Texas, to Curney Marion and Pauline Floyd Allen.
He attended Amarillo schools.
He married Correna Underwood on June 27, 1959, in Downey, Calif.
He and his family moved to the Roff area in 1971 from Covina, Calif. While in California, Mr. Allen worked in the grocery business, managing the Safeway Store in Covina. After moving to this area, he was employed with the Safeway store in Ada. He purchased the grocery store and feed store in Roff in 1985, and sold the business to his son in 2004. Mr. Allen was a member of Lightning Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Correna Allen, of the home; one son, Michael David “Mike” Allen and his companion, Pam Deaton of Roff; two daughters, Patti Allen and her companion, Tom Boulware of Lindsay, and Jalina McCutchen and her husband Mac of Ravia; a brother, Marion Allen of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Leta Marie Walker of Bullhead City, Ariz.; a stepsister, Syglenda Ford and her husband Bob of San Francisco, Calif.; a stepbrother, Curt Johnston of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, including two Mr. Allen and his wife are rearing, Brooklyn Allen and Nathan Allen; and an uncle, Bill Pendleton of Granby, Colo.
Bearers are his grandsons, Michael Allen, Josh Allen, Matt Branscum, Jeff Hunley, Nathan Deaton and Jamie Stephens. Honorary bearers are Wayne Cope, Richard Webb, Bill Duty, Emmerich Veber and Steve Burrows."

Glenda and her husband Oscar Hager, also 56, both passed unexpectedly in Goodman, MO, where they resided and worked.

She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Frances Gillis. She was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on August 21st, 6:00 p.m. at Caballo State Park Dam Picnic Area, main pavilion."
