"Mose Doyle Richardson 93 lifelong resident and businessman of Bowie, died on Friday, November 28, 2014.
He was born to Harvey and Auda Richardson on September 21, 1921 in Salona, Texas. The family lived in and around Bowie most of their lives. He attended school at Salona, Mission, and Stoneburg Texas. He was an avid athlete playing both basketball and baseball.
His first job was with O.W. Watson helping pour an emergency spillway for the Old Bowie Lake. He then went to work for Stanlin Pipe Line where he worked for 37 months, saving enough money to purchase his own truck. He hauled winter fruit and vegetables from the Rio Grande Valley; onions and potatoes from Colorado; and corn, wheat, and oats from Nebraska and Oklahoma. In 1943 he and his brother, H.A. Richardson, bought a feed store in Bowie naming it Richardson Brothers Feed. This was his first business in Bowie.
In 1951, he married Darlene Preuninger. They had three children: Nancy, Jerrall and Allan. Their activities as a family involved family time, church, and wonderful summer vacations.
He owned a water well drilling company in the late 1950s. Then in 1966 he built the first peanut drying plant, R & R Peanut Drying Company, in this area. Peanuts were brought to Bowie for drying from Montague and Cooke Counties. He sold it after several years then he and his brother, H.A., started a residential housing development in Bowie. They later purchased Eastside Lumber.
He started M.D. Richardson Sales and Service in 1974 manufacturing concrete septic tanks and supplying water well pumps and pipe. It is currently owned and operated by his daughter, Nancy Harrison, and her husband, Dave. Doyle’s favorite volunteer work was with the Bowie Volunteer Fire Department. He joined February 2, 1953 and retired December 31, 1984. He held almost every office during his 31 years of volunteering. In addition to fighting fires, he loved cooking at the annual Fireman’s Fish Fry and frying french fries for the Fire Department Booth at the Jim Bowie Days Rodeo.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harvey and Auda Richardson; his son, David Allan Richardson; his brother, H.A. Richardson Jr. and his sister JoAnn Stone of Krum. The family requests that memorials be made to the Bowie Volunteer Fire Department of Bowie or Hospice of Wichita Falls, Texas.

1Obit for Helen Iteele Fourniquet Richardson.
"HELEN FOURNIQUET LAPHAM RICHARDSON Helen Iteele Fourniquet was born in Arbor, Texas on June 14, 1926. She passed away in Boerne, Texas on November 1, 2011. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ben Lapham; her second husband, Bill Richardson; her son and daughter-in-law, Herb and Diane; her parents, Abb and Vida Fourniquet; two brothers, Charles and Jim Fourniquet; and three sisters, Vera Bland, Lodis Fourniquet, and Alta Perkins. She is survived by five children; Kathy (Wade) Martin, Keith (Suzanne) Richardson, Susie (Ronnie) Crews, Mary Beth (Gary) Stump, and Ben (Sandra) Richardson; eleven grand children; Ronda, Lisa, Pam, Christina, Trey, Travis, Hillary, Steven, Briana, Brittany, and Bridget; ten great-grandchildren with two on the way; and one sister, Alice (Everett) Watson of China Spring, TX. Helen was born just seven years after the signing of the Treaty of Versailles ending World War I and six years after women gained the right to vote. Calvin Coolidge was president, it was the middle of the "Roaring Twenties," and the world was on the brink of The Great Depression. The Fourniquet family's Christian faith was an integral component. Helen said, "We seldom had relations with a pastor. Our parents were our models. There was one Bible in the home. It was a revered book. I think Mama traded a chicken for it from a traveling salesman. Daddy was adamant that we were all around the table for the blessing of the food." Helen attended the local community schools in Arbor and Porter Springs and high school in Crockett, TX. The family lived in Porter Springs until after she graduated from high school. Then Helen rented a room in Crockett during the week to keep books, dispense medicine, and tend the soda fountain at the local pharmacy. On weekends she would go home to help her mother. On February 15, 1948 she married Benjamin H. Lapham Jr. and moved to Mission where they took over the Lapham family orchard. They had two children, a daughter, Kathy, in 1950 and a son, Herb, in 1953. Besides farming, Ben was a master carpenter at Moore Air Force Base which had been the old Tri-Cities Municipal Airport. It was reactivated as Moore Air Force Base in 1954 as part of the Cold War military expansion. It was while he worked there that Ben died: June 29, 1955. Helen was twenty nine years old and she had two very young children. Rather than sell out and move back to her family in East Texas, she chose to stay in the Valley. The grove and the house were the insurance Ben had provided for them. In 1959 Helen's good friend and neighbor bought tickets for her and Bill Richardson to take their children to the circus. It is doubtful they ever had a date without five little kids tagging along. They merged their two families November 1, 1959 which brought three more children into Helen's life. Bill was a farmer and did contract grain harvesting. Helen kept books for various businesses. The kids raced Bill's two ponies on the dirt road by the house and played Tarzan off the barn roof. The Richardsons had five children to be concerned about during a time of Cold War threats, rising racial unrest, and the "liberation" of societal norms. Just months after their marriage the world stood on the brink of another world war after a failed operation then a naval blockade of Cuba to prevent the placement of Soviet missiles. In 1961 President Kennedy initiated "affirmative action." His purpose was racial healing and to promote equality. Race riots were the nightly news focus. And just on the brink of their children's teenage years the seams of the moral fabric of America seemed to split. Through all of this tension Helen and Bill raised five children to value and respect all God's people. Then in 1977 Helen's son, Herb, and his wife, Diane, were killed by a drunk driver. She had the honor of raising their son, Ben, as her own son. Helen led a life of honor and integrity. Her presence will be missed but, her tremendous influence will be with us forever. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 5, 2011, at Baptist Temple in McAllen. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/themonitor/obituary.aspx?n=helen-richardson-fourniquet&pid=154459756#sthash.oQv4iJKM.dpuf."2Find A Grave Records, www.findagrave.com, Find A Grave Memorial# 139641061, Dec 5 2014.
