"Funeral services for Charles Wayne (Chuck) Sadler, age 63, of Katy were held Saturday, June 24, in the Church of Christ in Katy at 1 pm. Mr. Sadler passed away at his home on Thursday, June 22, 2000. Mr. Sadler was born on February 20, 1937, in Groesbeck to Otis Wilson Sadler and Ruby Jewell Plummer Sadler. He was united in marriage to Rena Ann Thompson on August 26, 1962, in Port Neches, Texas. Mr. Sadler attended school in Groesbeck and was a member of the Greoesbeck High School class of 1955. He had lived in Katy since 1977 and was a member of the Katy Church of Christ. A member of the Masonic Lodge, Mr. Sadler was also a member of the Katy A&M Club and the A&M Century Club. He was a "6th generation Texan" and a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas and the San Jacinto Descendants. He had been in the banking business for many years. He is survived by his wife, Rena Sadler, of Katy; his children, Otis Malcolm (Mike) and Rhonda Sadler of Katy and Stephen Wayne and Carrie A. Sadler of Brenham; two grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Sadler and Allyson BreAnn Sadler; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Frances and Preston Burton of Lewisville; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard Lee (Rick) and Linda Sadler of Mexia; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Cecil Hutson officated at the funeral service in Katy. Graveside services were held at 5:30 p. m. in the Faulkenberry Cemetery in Groesbeck with Mr. Neil Bond officiating.
