Charles Jones, Junr. and wife, Patience (X) Jones of Edgecombe Co. to Jacob Robins of same, for £20 Virginia money a tract of land on the south side of Little Mill Swamp adjoining Nathan Hickman, it being the plantation whereon one John Artess then lived. Thomas Spell and wife Elizabeth (X) Spell, of Edgecombe Co. to Henry Irwin, Esq., for £37 10s Proc money the 75 acre plantation whereon said Thomas Spell then lived, on the nroth bank of Tar River and on Indian Creek adjoining Drew Smith, Beverly Belcher, Benjamin Richardson and Thomas Newsome, it being part of a purchase patent granted to John Green for 2000 acres bearing date 6 Dec 1732, conveyed by said Greene to Francis Bettis, from Bettis to Charles Evans, from Evans to Christopher Guin, and this 75 acres was part of 100 acres conveyed from said Guin to NATHANIEL HICKMAN, and from Hickman to said Thomas Spell. William Hickman of Edgecombe Co. planter, to Stephen Cobb of Dobbs Co., NC, for £25 Proc. money a tract of 200 acres on the bank of Toisnot Swamp, it being part of a tract granted to Abraham Dew by deed bearing date 11 Feb 1761. 1769       16 May. NATHANIEL HICKMAN of Edgecome Co. deed of trust to THOMAS DIXON, JUNR., who was his surety for appearance at New Bern Superior Court, with the security being all of his household goods, livestock, and crop of corn. Wit: Nicholas Bynum, William Blackburn. DB D, p. 158.

George (B) Blackwell of Edgecombe Co. to Etheldred ruffin of same, for £20 Proc. money a tract of 100 acres on the south side of the Little Mill Swamp adjoining NATHANIEL HICKMAN and Hardy Blackwell, it being part of a larger tract granted to Jesse Blackwell and conveyed by him to said George Blackwell, it being the plantation whereon one John Arliss lived. 1772       7 Mar. Henry Irwin and wife, Elizabeth, of Edgecombe Co. to Joseph Wood of same, for £60 Virginia money a tract of 75 acres on the north bank of Tar River and on Indian Creek adjoining Drew Smith, Beverly Belcher, Benjamin Richardson and Thomas Newsom, it being part of a purchase patent for 2000 acres granted to John Green bearing date 6 Dec 1732, 1400 acres of which was conveyed by Green to Francis Bettis, from Bettis to Charles evans, and from Evans to Christopher Green. This 75 acres was part of a lesser quantity conveyed from said Green to NATHANIEL HICKMAN for 100 acares, and from said Hickman conveyed to Thomas Spell. Wit: William Renn, Thomas Joanes, Chistr.
