This is just a page for information on my little corner of the web, East of Eden. I explain the site, and the different parts of it.



- East Of Eden -
Basically, this site is my place for self-expression. I don't have any particular aim with it. If there's something i want to post, i'll post it. There's a good amount of humor, so if that's all you're interested in, you can stick to that. I would hope that you would care about the other things that i have posted here though. The "Poetry" and "Soliloquy" pages are little peeks into my world. Looking through the Nine Inch Nails can also give you insight into that.
The title comes from the Bible, though it is not a book i believe in. Cain and Abel, Cain being the elder, were the first children of the first couple, Adam and Eve. One day, when Cain was sacrificing his vegetables for the Lord, and Abel sacrificed a sheep, Cain became jealous because the Lord looked more favorably upon Abel. In his jealousy, Cain murdered his brother. He tried running, but could not run from the eyes of God. "And the Lord said unto him, therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden." Of course, i do not believe this story to be true, and question the existence of such a higher being, but that does not change the story.


- Poetry -
The poetry on this page is all written by me. A frequent comment i've gotten is "it's morbid." Well that's your call. The feelings in the poems are what i was going through while writing them. There are some that i wrote when i was feeling very angry, some when i hated who and what i am, some when i felt hopeless and some when i felt like nothing. These are all emotional states i have gone through and still do, and let me tell you that self-loathing is the loneliest place you can go. In that same vain, not all of the poem's are written in a negative state. I do get happy sometimes. I feel that my poem about the Man In Black is actually hopeful, in its own way. So, view the poetry as you will.


- Soliloquy -
My soliloquies are basically me talking to anyone who listen. This can be the direct method, as the first one i have posted, or indirectly through a short story. This goes along the lines of the poetry. Here, i say things that i might not say to most people. Do i care if this page is viewed by the people i won't tell these things? No. I just won't tell them directly. Most of these will concentrate on one emotion, rather than being a diary. I might not always know the cause of the emotion, and even if i do i most likely will not share it.


- Nine Inch Nails -
This section is made up of quotes, mainly from Trent Reznor, and also the lyrics to all Nine Inch Nails albums (i hope to expand to the other songs at some point). Nine Inch Nails is my favorite band, and incomparable to any other in my eyes.


- The Sandman -
The Sandman was a comic book series written by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by various artists. This is another of my obsessions, and is beyond the general work in comic books. It is incredibly deep, and goes beyond the stereotypical superhero story. What's more is that the main character isn't always right. The main character isn't even in half of the issues.
