INFERNO AND RED ALERT INFERNO AND RED ALERT

Two fire-fighting Autobots who can be the best of friends or the worst of enemies!

INFERNO

Inferno first appeared during the Dinobot Island incident, alongside Red Alert, trying to put out fires in the Autobot base caused by the clumsy Dinobots. Inferno then aided a group of other Autobots in dispensing a posse of time-displaced western outlaws.
Assumed to have been reconfigured by Teletran One when he arrived on Earth, Inferno transforms into a fire engine. In this mode, he has all the commodities of a normal fire engine (extending ladder, high pressure fire hose, etc.). In robot mode, he has a laser in place of his left hand, which is also capable of firing globules of fire-extinguishing foam. He has a similar weapon affixed to the side of his head, which fires steady streams of foam. Inferno's love of fighting and frequent rash actions have gotten him into trouble with Optimus Prime more than once, not to mention with Red Alert.
Inferno is presumed to have been present at the Autobot City Massacre of 2005, and to have been slain in the conflict. If this is the case, then the destruction of the Autobot Mausoleum by the undead Optimus Prime has surely ended any chance of Inferno's return to life.

RED ALERT

Red Alert is always on edge, worried about something or other. He even tends to get a little paranoid at times. Following his role in the Dinobot Island fiasco, Red Alert was put to work designing the security system for the Autobots new underground storage bunker, where Wheeljack's new invention, the Negavator, was to be stored. However, Soundwave and his Spy Cassettes interrupted a test of the tank, and in an ensuing explosion, Red Alert's logic circuits were damaged. Thinking that the other Autobots were all out to get him, he struck a deal with Starscream, and bypassed the bunker's security so he could steal the Negavator. However, when Red was hit by a blast from Starscream's Null Ray, his circuits were stabilised, and he blew up the tank so no-one could get it. Inferno rescued him from the fire.
Red Alert transforms into a fire marshal's car. In this mode, and in robot mode, he is equipped with state-of-the-art analytical systems to size up anything from the tiniest noise to the largest opponent. In robot mode, he has a shoulder mounted scanalyser which doubles as a laser.
It is unknown if Red Alert was present at the Autobot City Massacre, but if he was, it seems unlikely that he would have survived. In any case, he was not seen again following its events.
