My Poems
The Day I Saw You Smile

It's not your fault, don't feel bad.
Why did it have to be this way?
The timing so screwed up.
I thought I'd enjoy this,
But my mind wasn't there.
It's not the way you look,
It's not about what you believe,
I just can't deal with it now.
All the stress, all the pain.
The responsibility it entails
Is too much for me right now.
We both hate stupid jocks,
Do we hate cheerleaders?
Yet that has nothing to do
With how I feel.
I knew the day I walked in and saw you smile.
But I chose to deny it.
I knew when I talked and saw you smile.
But I chose to deny it.
I knew when I looked in your eyes and saw you smile.
But again, I chose to deny it.
I knew what I had to do,
But I didn't want to.
Many things we view the same,
Yet like night and day are we.
I fail to see what you see in me,
So much so that I'll let it be.
Your one smile told me everything.
It's not your fault, don't feel bad.
It's not the way you look
It's not in what you belive
Denial has lost it's hold.
